SISTERHOOD OF SERVANTS 6TH ANNUAL SPRING BANQUET
What better way to spend an evening than eating delicious food in the company of friends and family, bragging on the work of the Lord, and honoring faithful volunteers and teen girls for their excellence and hard work. It doesn't get much better than that.

TRINITY RESCUE MISSION DORM ROOM RENOVATION
S.O.S. Girls and I have been raising money and piecing quilt squares together for months all in preparation for this day.  We have a little more sewing, trim work, and organizing to get finished, but we've accomplished our goal.  What an incredible opportunity to serve and minister to others.  The room is beautiful and the girls' hard work shows.  My favorite comment of the day:  "Man, we get our summer bodies by working in SOS Girls!  No flabby arms on us!"  I grinned from ear to ear.  Yes, they have worked hard, and I praise God for their attitudes in the midst of it all.  They lived out the SOS Girls motto today with exemplary class:  "encouraging young women to live with a servant's heart." ☺

COFFEE AND CANVAS PAINTING EXTRAVAGANZA 2016
My heart is so full.  Our Coffee and Canvas  fundraiser was incredible today.  I was encouraged by everything about this event:  the attendance, the enthusiasm of the participants, the volunteer spirit and hard work of my terrific S.O.S. Girls, and the wonderful teaching expertise of our painting instructor, Amy Dasher.  We sold more than $800 worth of tickets and will use those funds to complete the renovation of the dorm room at Trinity Rescue Mission!  Praise the Lord! Many of the participants requested that we make this an annual event.  I concur!!

CATHEDRAL TOWNHOUSE OUTREACH
The girls and I had a 'maaavelous' time entertaining the residents at Cathedral Townhouse.  They were as enthusiastic about our "decades" theme celebration as we were. Who knew taking a walk down memory lane through the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s could be so much fun!  Great food, fun music, and nostalgic activities made for a really successful outreach.  I can't say enough about the hard work and faithfulness of S.O.S. Girls.  These young women bless my heart immensely!   It takes a lot of hard work, coordination, faithfulness, and unity to pull off an event like this.  We've been invited to come back and do it all over again next year.  Can't wait! ☺

S.O.S. GIRLS CHRISTMAS COOKIE BAKE-A-THON
It was an incredibly rewarding day of ministry.  The girls and I got to spend it mixing ingredients, baking Christmas cookies, decorating cookie plates, driving all over Jacksonville to make deliveries, singing Christmas carols at a hair salon, Home Depot stores, and Wolfson's children's hospital all while laughing our heads off.
It was a GREAT DAY! ☺

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOX PACKING 2015
Another wonderful year of shoebox ministry is in the books!   We had a good time packing our boxes and putting the finishing touches on our pillow case dresses.  Thank you to everyone that donated time and treasure to our efforts.

S.O.S. GIRLS SEWING CLASS
This year we received a generous grant of 10 brand new sewing machines from Singer Sewing Company.  Our sewing project this Fall was pillowcase dresses.  One dress will be placed inside each of our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. We would love to see the faces of each teen girl as she receives a handmade dress for Christmas from a teen girl in America - so special!  Many thanks to our ministry friends that donated fabric.

CARTOBERFEST 2015
I'm so grateful for all the generous patrons and families that came out to join us for fun, games, and gorgeous cars.  I want to give a special shout out of thanks to Bob Ezell for his fabulous workmanship on our portable putt putt golf course and corn hole boards.  We now have a "party in our pocket"  because of his tireless work.  My favorite comments from the day came from a young teen and the mom of a 10 year old.  They remind me of why we do what we do at Sisterhood of Servants.  Teen girl:  "Do you still need S.O.S. Girls?"  Me:  "Of course.  We'd love to have you join us."  Mother of 10 year old who won a trophy in our golf tournament:  "Maybe you'll get to be an S.O.S. Girl when you get a little older."  (My heart did flip flops ☺)

S.O.S. GIRLS ART CLASS
The girls and I kicked off our first Art in Acrylics 101 class.  I'm especially excited because I got to be one of the students this time.  Our goal is to take our new skills and create works of art that will help SOS Girls promote our spring outreach project to renovate our adopted dorm room at Trinity Rescue Mission.  A big thank you to Kerry Dore for all of the time she put into the class preparing the lesson plans.  She taught us with great enthusiasm and patience.  I am SO GRATEFUL for people who really care and have a genuine desire to share
 their passion.

5th ANNUAL SPRING BANQUET
Everything about our Sisterhood Of Servants 5 year anniversary celebration makes me happy - our faithful supporters, the setting of Coleman House, the fellowship between S.O.S. Girls and their little sisters, the many new friends, the food, and the laughter. Ministry is always about people, and the images of many of my favorite people on the planet have been captured in these pictures.

Welcome 2015!  SERVING THE HOMELESS
One of the wonderful outreach opportunities that we enjoy as a group is ministering to the residents at Trinity Rescue Mission

PROMO VIDEO, CLOTHING DRIVE, OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD, and
CHRISTMAS AT THE MISSION

Fall 2014 was a busy season!  We had fun on location shooting our first S.O.S. Girls promo video, hosted a used clothing drive, and we gathered items and stuffed gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child and Trinity Rescue Mission Women's and Children's Center

SEWING CIRCLE 2014 - TOILETRY TOTES

This year S.O.S. Girls made toiletry bags that would be placed in our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, and they were also given to homeless women at Trinity Rescue Mission.  I'm especially thankful to my mom volunteers that helped with all the prep work, so the girls could spend a fun afternoon sewing. These are SUPER cute and practical.

4th ANNUAL S.O.S. SPRING BANQUET

Our celebration time at the annual spring banquet is always memorable. This year we honored members of S.O.S. Girls with a Certificate of Merit for their service to the Jacksonville community and presented a special Spirit Award to one of the members.  We look forward with great anticipation to establishing several new chapters of S.O.S. Girls in the Fall.

2014 SPRING FUNDRAISER
It was a beautiful day to wash cars, sell plants and homemade goodies, and share the ministry of SOS Girls with so many people in Jacksonville. We grew the herbs from seeds, packaged the cookie mix ourselves, and the flowers were donated by our local Ace Hardware company.  Thank you to everyone that came out to show your support. We appreciate your generosity! ☺

S.O.S. GIRLS @ SHANDS HOSPITAL CHILD LIFE CENTER
The girls make "Me Dolls" for sick children, and they are given to patients at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. The dolls are used as a coping/medical play tool to help ease the child's fear of receiving medical treatment. It was a blessing to see what a difference a simple little doll can make in a child's life.

READING AND SUCCEEDING
S.O.S. Girls meet weekly to receive training to become literacy tutors for children that are in the 1st - 5th grades.  They are learning a skill that can be used their entire lives.

SOUNDS OF SISTERHOOD RECORDING

What an incredible day of recording at A1A studios! I'm so thankful for my generous and talented friends that volunteered their time for this project.  By the grace of God we finished all of the instrumental tracks (10 compositions) for our cd that is scheduled for release in Summer 2014, Lord willing. Proceeds from cd sales will be used to help finance our Malongwe Village education/vocation initiative in Zambia, Africa and expand our S.O.S. Girls outreach ministry in the United States.

CHRISTMAS FUN @ SWEET PETE'S CANDY SHOPPE
Such a fun and silly afternoon enjoying fellowship and candy cane making with my S.O.S. Girls and their parents. This group of young ladies is supercalafrajalistic - espialidoshus (yep, auto correct/spell check just went BONKERS)! ☺

OPERATION  CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOE BOX PACKING PARTY
What a fun day! The girls and I spent 6 hours making crafts, wrapping shoe boxes, and filling them with hand made and store bought gifts that will be a blessing to a sweet, teenage girl somewhere on the globe this Christmas.

CARTOBERFEST WEEKEND 2013
The girls kicked off the weekend with a bake-a-thon. The baked goods were sold at our first Sisterhood Of Servants Car Show Fundraiser. What a gorgeous day! Classy cars, selfless volunteers, and generous patrons made for an extremely successful event. Our total profit from sales and donations was $2500 for the day!

MAKEOVER DAY AT THE MISSION
The girls celebrated 'makeover day' with the residents of Trinity Rescue Mission Women and Children’s Shelter.  Finally, they were able to enjoy the fruit of many hours of planning, preparation, fundraising, and sewing together more than 3500 fabric squares to make 10 quilts. We presented “The Sisterhood Room” to the residents, and they were very gracious with their praise and thanks. The girls are experiencing the joy of serving others, and it’s my pleasure to watch them blossom!  All glory goes to God!

WASHING CARS AND SEWING FOR THE RESCUE MISSION
S.O.S. Girls held a car wash at Chick Fil-A  to raise money for the paint, bedding, shelving, and sewing materials they would need to do a complete makeover of the dorm room at the Rescue Mission.  It was a very successful endeavor (we washed 30 cars and raised more than $500).  The girls created some really beautiful quilts with limited sewing skills...and a some help from several awesome "mom volunteers"

BAKE SALE 2012
This was an incredible day, and a really HOT one. Despite the 90+ degree heat, the girls prevailed, and God performed a miniature "loaves and fishes" miracle for us at the bake sale. Truly, he multiplied our cash box because the girls raised $346 in just four hours despite the fact that Lifeway Bookstore (the venue where our display was set up) was giving away FREE cookies and bottles of water! Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase the supplies needed to makeover one of the dorm rooms at Trinity Rescue Mission.  God is Wonderful...so are these girls! ☺

(a special shout out of thanks to Kristin Alvarez and Hannah Perry for having the courage and stamina to pose as Bob and Larry Boy from Veggie Tales!  I think they did a great job!)

WELCOME TO S.O.S. GIRLS
We kicked off a new season with a fantastic group of young ladies, and a visit to West Jacksonville Rehabilitation Center.  The girls made Containers of Kindness for each of the residents.  It's a box that contains 30 different messages of encouragement.  The label on the back of the box says, "Read a message a day to chase the blues away!"
