Franchises that are now included in the directory have been removed and CDC can continue with applications for these franchises without prior verification. The list contains only those marks that the SBA has determined to be eligible in accordance with the SBA membership rules and other approval criteria. If the applicant`s trademark meets the FTC definition of a franchise, it must be listed in the directory to obtain SBA financing. (To minimize confusion regarding marks that appear as franchises but do not meet the FTC`s definition, the SBA will include such marks upon request in the directory if they are otherwise justified.) There is no fee for franchises that wish to be added to the directory and it is accessible to anyone visiting the SBA website (www.sba.gov).
