HOW WAS SISTERHOOD OF SERVANTS™ STARTED?

Sisterhood Of Servants™(S.O.S.) was created in 2007 by Phylicia Perry in response to a growing trend she noticed among the women in her circle of influence. Wherever there was a job to be done or a goal to be accomplished, there were a few faithful, selfless women who carried the bulk of the load while the vast majority stood by and reaped the fruit of their labors. Even while traveling abroad and observing the interaction between women, Phylicia realized that the phenomenon of "a few doing the tasks of many" wasn’t just a problem in her local community but rather a characteristic of our society in general. From this, the concept of a “sisterhood of servants” was birthed. The phrase itself was coined during a phone conversation between Phylicia and a fellow homeschool mom as they talked about ways to get more mothers involved in volunteering to organize homeschool activities.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO BECOME A NON-PROFIT VS. FOR PROFIT COMPANY?

Sisterhood Of Servants™ was not formed with the intent to realize a profit that would be paid to investors or shareholders. Rather, it was established solely with the intent to pursue charitable purposes.

WHO ARE THE SEVEN SISTERS NAMED FOR THE PUBLISHING COMPANY, SEVEN SISTERS PRESS?

Seven Sisters Press, the publishing subsidiary of Sisterhood Of Servants, Inc. is named for the women who comprise the original S.O.S. circle and April Rackley, the biological sister of Phylicia Perry.

WHY SHOULD I SUPPORT S.O.S FINANCIALLY?

S.O.S is a voice of influence and inspiration in the lives of women today. In a culture that can be extremely self-serving at times, the message and motto of S.O.S. are timely, relevant, and worth sharing with women around the globe. The message is this: “when women come together with singleness of purpose, the service they provide to those in their family, community and circles of influence has the potential to make a lasting impact for generations to come." The programs and ministries that are being implemented further perpetuate this counter-cultural way of thinking.

HOW WILL MY DONATION BE USED?

All donations will be used for the following projects: 1) expenses incurred from the implementation of the S.O.S Girls,™ Women Of Excellence, and Global Sisterhood Initiative outreach programs; 2) production and distribution of promotional materials through Seven Sisters Press, including Leadership Training conference materials; 3) corporate partnerships with organizations that provide humanitarian, evangelistic and economic resources to women and children around the globe.

IS MY DONATION TAX DEDUCTIBLE?

Sisterhood Of Servants™ is a 501c3, tax exempt, non-profit, charitable corporation registered in the states of Wisconsin and Florida.  All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by the Internal Revenue service in accordance with the U.S. Tax Code.
